The Lightner Courtyard is a very popular spot in St. Augustine for weddings, surprise proposals, and even family photoshoots. It is a romantic spot and perfect for you to "pop the question"; however, there are some essential things to know. The Lightner Courtyard is in the old Alcazar Hotel Building that now houses the Lightner Museum and the City of St. Augustine offices. The city requires a permit to do photography in the courtyard, and it is an inexpensive way to assure that you will be the only person dropping to one knee in this beautiful spot. The city also requires that your photographer provides proof of insurance to shoot in the courtyard.
